Shando Theron is the founding partner of Theron Inc., widely recognised as one of South Africa’s leading Specialist Divorce, Custody and Matrimonial law firms. A commanding presence in court and a strategic force in settlement negotiations, Shando has built a formidable reputation for delivering results in the most complex and high-conflict family law disputes.

His career began in the South African Defence Force, where he completed Officer Training at the elite Infantry School , (South Africa’s equivalent of West Point), and distinguished himself as a front-line Infantry Platoon Commander. He later qualified for 1 Parachute Battalion, one of the country’s most prestigious and elite military units. It was during this time that Shando was first exposed to Military Law and Military Courts, a field in which he continues to serve when called upon, either prosecuting or acting as Defence Counsel, (he currently holds the rank of Major in the South African Reserve Forces).

Shando holds both a BA (Law) and an LLB from the University of Stellenbosch. After relocating to Johannesburg, he rapidly earned attention by winning precedent-setting custody matters for fathers and securing lucrative divorce settlements for female clients. He earned a reputation for winning unwinnable cases, specifically regarding child custody matters for fathers. These early victories set the tone for a career as a Specialist Divorce, Custody and Matrimonial Lawyer, defined by fearless advocacy, tactical brilliance, and legal precision.
